THE VIEW FROM A WHIPPERSNAPPER.
I was a sickly child.
This carried on into adulthood, and I am happy to say that due to Lockdown Restrictions I have been a lot less sickly in 2020/21.
I appreciate this doesn't generate too much 'economy', is destroying our collective mental health, and still doesn't give much hope to the Anti-Vaxxers, Conspiracy Theorists, Digilantes or Piers Corbyn.
I am in Group 4 for the current vaccination programme.
I am a CEV.
Vulnerable.
In the extreme.
Yesterday I went to the seaside.
The best place for us all to assemble on the Sunrise Coast is over in posh Southwold.
It's a lovely little health centre!
Huge!
Very clean.
Lots of parking!
Surrounded by new housing that is only affordable to landlords or property developers.
I'm fairly sure that the Secretary of State for the DWP Therese Coffey had 'something' to do with this development, so I ask the nay-sayers of Olde Beccles to bear with our 'Soviet-Style' environmentally-conscious parish council, whilst we reform the anachronism that is self-serving British unrealpolitik.
Good things come to those who wait.
Tories don't wait.
It's not patriotic, and it doesn't sell bricks & mortar.
So how do I feel after my jab?
My arm's a wee bit sore, but as a regular flu-jabee I'm quite used to this.
I'm a bit out of sorts, but I've had much worse hangovers.
I'm what the kidz say is 'a bit meh'.
Anything else?
YES!
I have no appetite!
Normally during a snow-filled, Facebook-less, triple lockdowned, Six Nations Feb-Fest, I am guzzling Guinness, loading apex carbs, indulging in post-Xmas/heavily reduced confectionery, and livin' la vida lard-arse.
But no.
I neither want booze nor food.
Last night I ordered a Chinese takeaway and only ate soup.
This morning I made breakfast for my personal carer (hot, grilled-cheese, sourdough rarebit) but declined to have some myself.
We are about to have a warming Sunday roast, but I can't really get excited about anything other than prune juice & blogging.
We have cake!
It looks revolting.
So I can't convince the Bill Gates Fearful, or the Big Pharma Antagonists, or the Immune System Naturopaths, or even those that are just scared of needles, to Do The Right Thing.
I have no idea whether this will be the answer to all of our perceived problems?
But I can confirm that for a 'sickly child', the pain & discomfort are negligible.
And for those of us carrying an extra kilo or two around our box-set bellies, the jab does give some nom-nom 'relief'.
If you're worried about your beach bod for this summer, go & get vaccinated!
It's cheaper than a course of milkshakes, less annoying than Bez or Joe Wicks, doesn't involve gym-wear or jogging, and I (personally) think, less smacky than amphetamine.
**Yanny Mac is NOT (and never has been) a qualified medical professional**

This is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteIt's like Chick-Lit for the Masses!
You are DEFINITELY in my Top 10 bloggers.
Keep it up!
(A bit less Tory-bashing please?)
(And maybe get behind the local industries of vaping, hairdressing and Greggs, and not so 'snipey'?)
(And more pictures!)
Love Ian. x
