FLOAT ON..........

As the year of World Football Ignores Slavery & Oppression (Once Again) 2022 creeps up upon us, and like smacked-out ostriches on a beach made of astro-turf we run back to our wholesale suppliers of unsustainability for guidance & a quick timecheck, our 'social media scrolls of acceptance' are sure to be filled with shrieks of horror, as for the 35th year in a row our Xmas gift confectionery displays are hastily replaced with Easter egg confectionery displays.

As a regular attendee at Roman Catholic primary schools, I was always quite surprised and slightly amazed that Baby Jesus managed to get so much done in such a short space of time.
The birth, the epiphany, the slaughter of the first-born, the carpentry, the Lads' Tour, the time in the desert, the betrayal, and then the hot cross bun & egg incident.
All in four months.

As a chocolate salesman in the 90s I later learned that supermarkets had nothing to do with Christian Festival timings, and like us - were merely playing the game, dancing to the tune, following like sheep, and keeping everyone in cheap goods without asking too many questions.
I also learned that Asda-Walmart-Ribbit Capital-Murphy Oil-Morgan Stanley-Thunder Industries Inc.
AND
Morrisons-Clayton,Dubilier & Rice-Remington Arms Industry-B&M-Hertz-Goodrich
(along with all the other major purveyors of the oil & plastics circular economy),
get a HUGE incentive from the manufacturers for taking their seasonal stock early, in order that the manufacturers can concentrate on next Xmas.
It's not as cynical as you think.
It's just a matter of land & property space.
£6BILLION's worth of warehouse space!!

This year Cadbury-Mondelez-Kraft-Heinz-RBS have launched a hot cross bun flavoured Dairy Milk for Easter!
$65BILLION Cadbury-Mondelez are the firm responsible for the 90% deforestation of the Ghana & the Ivory Coast landmass, for their palm oil/cocoa production.
(They don't shout about it).
They're also the multinational that was found guilty of price-fixing wheat futures, and further found guilty of child slavery in the Ivory Coast and Mali.
(They don't advertise this either).

The global juggernaut that once provided a Quaker-Temperance model village for its employees has progressed somewhat over the past 150years.
Like rivals Nestle' Rowntree and Mars, they've become the epitome of everything Baby Jesus taught us was wrong.

So.......
How do you eat yours?
