War! What IS it good for???


HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

I was banging-on in Part 1 about how we should maybe give the monarch a bit of rest now?

We expect her to serve us, we expect her to maintain fuck loads of posh houses, we expect her to be morally upright, head of the Army, unflinching in the face of adversity, and good on a horse.

She never gets a moment’s rest, but her offspring & her offsprung-offspring get to go to Mustique, Muscat or Meribel, Dubai, Dakar or Dar Es Salaam. The latest lot got to go to the 'colonies' of Belize, Bahamas & Jamaica, and boy did they read that one wrong!

Bu where does the Queen go?
Norfolk if she's lucky, Aberdeen, or Windsor near Bracknell (opposite Maccy D’s).

We wouldn’t inflict this life on our WORST enemy, so why do we persist in doing this to our sovereigns?
Republican or Raving Loony, you’d have the family dog put-down if it had to endure a quality of life such as this!

It’s torture (ironic from a historical perspective!)
It’s cruel.
It’s inbreeding, tradition for tradition’s sake, and leads to them all having a
Habsburg jaw, or involvement in a filial war.
The Hollenzollen-Habsburg 'Cousins' that we love to have wars with.

I just think we should give her a break.
Give them ALL a break!

We could end this sheep-like obeyance to an anachronism that we no longer need, nor can afford.
(And maybe save us all a few bob to create more hospitals, more housing, better fuel & power systems, fewer schisms & wars, a lot less divine providence, and maybe the odd Premiership footy team or two, untainted by oligarchy, plutocracy or monarchy?)
 So......... Once again.........
Can we NOT sing or say ‘God Save The Queen' please?
If she’s ready, can she just get on with a normal-ish life now?
Or meet her maker & anointer in a more relaxed and pain-free way?
For her sake?

What if she’d like to bow out now?
(Or curtsy?)
God knows she’s put up with enough.
She’s due a break.
Let her have a well-deserved rest. :-/
Poor old dear.

We can still say 'God Save The Attenboroughs' tho’!!!!

THE LAST NIGHT OF THE FAIR.

  As I debated adding ice & lemon to my evening Oramorph cocktail, I zoned-out of Pharmaceutical Heaven for a brief moment, and found myself in the hope-drenched waiting room of Free Will & Autonomy.
